나만이 나의 의지처이고                               나만이 나의 안식처이다.

 

자신이 실로 자신의 보호자이며                   자신이 실로 자신의 안식처이다

 

자신이 실로 자신의 의지처이고                    자신이 실로 자신의 갈 길이다

 

One is indeed one's own lord.                       One is indeed one's own destiny

 

One indeed is one's own refuge,                   One indeed is one's own heaven

 

You are your own master,                              you make your own future.

 

 

自為自保護。                                                       自為自依怙

 

 

 

 

One is indeed one's own lord.
One is indeed one's own destiny.
Therefore restrain yourself,
just like a merchant restrains a good horse.

 

One is one's own protector,

one is one's own refuge.

Therefore, one should control oneself,

even as a trader controls a noble steed.

 

 

Self is the protector of self, self is the refuge of self,

therefore one should restrain oneself, as a merchant his noble horse.

 

 

 

자기야말로 자신의 주인이고 자기야말로 자신의 의지할 곳

그러니 말장수가 좋은 말을 다루듯이 자기 자신을 잘 다루라.

 

 

 

자신이 자신의 의지처이고 자신이 자신의 안내자이다.

상인이 훌륭한 말을 다루듯, 그대는 자기 자신을 다스리라.
