성스러운 관자재 보살이 심오한 반야바라밀다의 行을 행하시면서 깊이 살펴보셨나니,
/ Avalokita, the Holy Lord and Bodhisattva, was moving in the deep course of the Wisdom which has gone beyond. He looked down from on high
/ 觀自在菩薩 行深般若波羅蜜多時 照見

pan$ca-skandhaah* taam ca svabhaava-s#uunyaan pas#yati sma
다섯 가지 무더기(= 五蘊)들이 있어서 그들 고유성질(= 自性)이 空함을 보시었다.
/ He beheld but five heaps, and He saw that in their own-being they were empty.
/ 五蘊皆空 度一切苦厄

iha s#ariputra ruupam s#uunyataa s#uunyataa eva ruupam, ruupaat na pr*thak s#uunyataa s#uunyataayaa na pr*thak ruupam, yat ruupam saa s#uunyataa yaa s#uunyataa tat ruupam; evam eva vedanaa-sam*jn$aa-sam*skaara-vijn$aanam
사리뿌뜨라(사리자)여! 여기서 물질[色]은 空性이고 空性이 바로 물질이다. 空性은 물질과 별개의 것이 아니고 물질은 空性과 별개의 것이 아니다. 물질인 것은 곧 공성이며, 공성인 것은 곧 물질이다. 느낌[受]과 인식[想]과 심리현상들[行]과 알음알이[識]도 바로 그와 같다.
/ Here, O Sariputra, form is emptiness and the very emptiness is form; emptiness does not differ from form, form does not differ from emptiness, whatever is emptiness, that is form, whatever is form, that is emptiness, the same is true of feelings, perceptions, impulses, and consciousness.
/ 舍利子 色不異空 空不異色 色卽是空 空卽是色 受想行識 亦復如是

사리뿌뜨라여, 여기서 모든 법[諸法]들의 空性의 특징은 생기지도 않고 멸하지도 않으며, 더럽지도 않고 깨끗하지도 않으며, 부족하지도 않고 가득하지도 않다.
/ Here, O Sariputra, all dharmas are marked with emptiness; they are not produced or stopped, not defiled or immaculate, not deficient or complete.
/ 舍利子 是諸法空相 不生不滅 不垢不淨 不增不減
tasmaacchaariputra s#uunyataayaam* na ruupam* na vedanaa na sam*jn$aa na sam*skaaraa na vijn$aanam*
tasmaat s#aariputra s#uunyataayaam na ruupam na vedanaa na sam*jn$aa na sam*skaaraah* na vijn$aanam.
사리뿌뜨라여, 그러므로 空性에는 물질도 없고 느낌도 없으며 인식도 없고 심리현상들도 없으며 알음알이도 없다.
/ Therefore, O Sariputra, in emptiness there is no form nor feeling, nor perception, nor impulse, nor consciousness; No eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, mind
/ 是故 空中無色 無受想行識
na caksuh*s#rotraghraan*ajihvaakaayamanaam*si na ruupas#abdagandharasaspras*t*avyadharmaah* na caks*urdhaaturyaavan na manovijn$aanadhatuuh*.
na caksus-s#rotra-ghraan*a-jihvaa-kaaya-manaam*si na ruupa-s#abda-gandha-rasa-spras*t*avya-dharmaah* na caks*us-dhaatuh* yaavan na manovijn$aana-dhatuuh*.
눈, 귀, 코, 혀, 몸, 마노도 없고 형상, 소리, 냄새, 맛, 감촉, 법들도 없으며 눈의 요소[眼界]도 없고 내지 마노의 알음알이의 요소[意識界]도 없다.
/ No eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, mind; No forms, sounds, smells, tastes, touchables or objects of mind; No sight-organ element, and so forth, until we come to: No mind-consciousness element;
/ 無眼耳鼻舌身意 無色聲香味觸法 無眼界 乃至 無意識界
naavidyaa naavidyaaks*ayo yavaanna jaraamaran*am* na jaraamaran*aks*ayo.
na-avidyaa na-avidyaa-ks*ayah* yavaat na jaraa-maran*am na jaraa-maran*a-ks*ayah*.
無明도 없고 무명의 소멸도 없으며 내지 늘음·죽음[老死]도 없고 老死의 소멸도 없다.
/ There is no ignorance, no extinction of ignorance, and so forth, until we come to: There is no decay and death, no extinction of decay and death.
/ 無無明 亦無無明盡 乃至 無老死 亦無老死盡
na duh*khasamudayanirodhamaargaa na jn$aanam*, na praaptir na apraaptih*.
na duh*kha-samudaya-nirodha-maargaah*. na jn$aanam, na praaptih* na apraaptih*
苦·集·滅·道도 없고 지혜[智]도 없으며 증득도 없고 증득하지 않음도 없다.
/ There is no suffering, no origination, no stopping, no path. There is no cognition, no attainment and no non-attainment.
/ 無苦集滅道 無智亦無得
tasmaacchaariputra apraaptitvaadbodhisattvasya prajn$aapaaramitaamaas#ritya viharaty acittaavaran*ah*. cittaavaran*anaastitvaadatrasto viparyaasaatikraanto nis*t*haanirvaan*apraaptah*.
tasmaat s#aariputra apraaptitvaat bodhisattvasya prajn$aapaaramitaam aas#ritya viharati acittaavaran*ah*. cittaavaran*a-na-astitvaat atrastah* viparyaasa-atikraantah* nis*t*haa-nirvaan*a-praaptah*.
사리뿌뜨라여, 그러므로 증득하지 못하는 것이기 때문에 보살은 반야바라밀다에 의지하여 마음에 장애가 없이 머문다. 마음에 장애가 없기 때문에 두려움이 없고 顚倒를 넘어서 궁극의 열반을 증득한다.
/ Therefore, O Sariputra, it is because of his non-attainmentness that a Bodhisattva, through having relied on the Perfection of Wisdom, dwells without thought-coverings. In the absence of thought-coverings he has not been made to tremble, he has overcome what can upset, and in the end he attains to Nirvana.
/ 以無所得故 菩提薩埵 依般若波羅蜜多故 心無罣碍 無罣碍故 無有恐怖 遠離顚倒夢想 究竟涅槃
tryadhvavyavasthitaah* sarvabuddhaah* prajn$aapaaramitaamaas#rityaanuttaraam* samyaksambodhimabhisambuddhaah*
tri-adhva-vyavasthitaah* sarva-buddhaah* prajn$aapaaramitaam-aas#ritya-anuttaraam* samyak-sam-bodhim abhisambuddhaah*
三世에 머물고 계신 모든 부처님들께서는 반야바라밀다에 의지하여 위없는 바르고 완전한 보리를 완전히 깨달으셨다.
/ All those who appear as Buddhas in the three periods of time fully awake to the utmost, right and perfect Enlightenment because they have relied on the Perfection of Wisdom.
/ 三世諸佛 依般若波羅蜜多故 得阿耨多羅三藐三菩提
tasmaaj jn$aatavyam: prajn$aapaaramitaa mahaamantro mahaavidyaamantro ‘nuttaramantro ‘samasamamantrah*,
tasmaat jn$aatavyam: prajn$aapaaramitaa mahaa-mantrah* mahaa-vidyaa-mantrah* an-uttara-mantrah* a-sama-sama-mantrah*
그러므로 알아야 한다. 반야바라밀은 위대한 주문이고, 크게 신령스러운 주문이며, 위없는 주문이고, 동등한 것이 없는 주문이며,
/ Therefore one should know the prajnaparamita as the great spell, the spell of great knowledge, the utmost spell, the unequalled spell,
/ 故知 般若波羅蜜多是大神呪是大明呪 是無上呪 是無等等呪
sarvaaduh*khapras#manah*, satyamamithyatvaat. prajn$aapaaramitaayaamukto mantrah*. tadyathaa:
sarvaa-duh*kha-pras#manah*, satyam amithyatvaat. prajn$aapaaramitaayaam uktah* mantrah*. tat yathaa:
모든 괴로움을 평정하며, 거짓됨이 없기 때문에 진실하다.
반야바라밀다에서 [이러한] 주문이 설해졌나니 그것은 다음과 같다.
/ allayer of all suffering, in truth -- for what could go wrong? By the prajnaparamita has this spell been delivered. It runs like this:
/ 能除一切苦 眞實不虛 故說般若波羅蜜多呪 卽說呪曰
gate gate paaragate paarasam*gate bodhi svaahaa.
iti prajn$aapaaramitaahr*dayam* samaaptam
gate gate paaragate paarasam*gate bodhi svaahaa. iti prajn$aapaaramitaa-hr*dayam* samaaptam
감이여! 감이여! 저 언덕으로 감이여! 저 언덕으로 완전히 감이여! 깨달음을 위하여 스와하!
이처럼 반야바라밀다의 핵심이 끝났다.
/ Gone, gone, gone beyond, gone altogether beyond, O what an awakening, all-hail ! -- This completes the Heart of perfect Wisdom.
